Hey! I'm Carrie. I live in Winnipeg, Canada in a laid-back neighbourhood lined with big trees. I photograph my house plants all week and weddings on the weekends. I'm wildly optimistic, I love big crowds, and I spend way too much on getting food delivered instead of just using my perfectly good kitchen.
It feels so natural to hold a camera that sometimes I look around for it, despite it being in my hands (and then feel like an idiot when I realize. Classic.) My first wedding was back in 2010. After a stint of working at a local radio station with photo sessions on the side, I finally went to photo school and locked in this wild, wonderful, energizing job full-time.
Two things you need to know: (Bonus thing: I love lists.)
1.) I'm gonna think you're awesome. Meeting new people is my top favourite thing, especially when those people are best friends who are head-over-heels in love. (That's the purest kind of magic we've got.) I'm going to want every detail about how you met and how the proposal went down, and there's a very good chance I'll cry at your wedding. If the vows don't get me, your family tearing up during speeches will.
2.) I know being in front of the camera is most people's least favourite thing. But I've got you covered. I'm not into the stiff prom poses any more than you are. I'll guide and direct as needed, until you're comfortable, and then sit back and let the magic happen. I like catching those fleeting, beautiful moments of connection that happen between human beings. The gold light/wild love/uncontrollable laughter. The tender looks that will make your heart ache to see it show up so clearly in a photograph later. Nothing makes me happier than knowing you'll get to look back on your photos and remember exactly what that amazing day felt like.
